We Were Betrayed: Radiy Khabirov Expresses Views on Unfriendly Countries at Zauralye-2024 Plenary Session
During the plenary session “THE WORLD. Russia in the Spotlight” as part of the 6th Zauralye-2024 All-Russia Investment Sabantuy, Radiy Khabirov, Head of the Republic of Bashkortostan, spoke out on unfriendly countries.

“We were very much and, as we realize now, wrongly, carried away by the fact that all our resources and energy were directed towards forming close economic relations with countries that, I believe, simply betrayed us. We played fair, and when our Western partners suddenly began cutting off all economic and logistics chains, we found ourselves in a very difficult situation with a high wall in front of us. But we turned around and went to the East,” Radiy Khabirov stated.

The Head of the Republic emphasized the importance of versatile cooperation with various countries and noted the positive development of Bashkortostan's relations with Türkiye and Uzbekistan. Khabirov stressed that the basis for successful cooperation is the goodwill of the states and a respectful attitude between the leaders of the countries. He also cited an example of cooperation with China.

“Buses and electric buses, including those running around Moscow and other Russian cities, were based on the supply of key components like the German engine and gearbox. But we quickly adapted, and within months, our colleagues from China helped us solve this difficult task,”
said Radiy Khabirov. “We see a continuous and consistent desire to cooperate, based primarily on the normal relationship between the states. This foundation allows us to develop all our economic relations at the regional level, at the level of enterprises, and at the level of private businesses”.
