Tourist Bridge: Zauralye-2024 Forum to Explore New Horizons of Cooperation Between Bashkortostan and Belarus
Zauralye-2024 Investment Sabantuy, scheduled to take place from May 24 to May 26 in Sibay, Republic of Bashkortostan, will feature discussions on expanding cooperation between Bashkortostan and the Republic of Belarus. A substantial delegation from the Allied State will participate in the event.

Thus far, both republics have established economic, cultural, and inter-parliamentary ties, with significant infrastructure projects underway. Notably, the tourism industry holds particular importance.

Filipp Gulyi, Chairperson of the Board of the Republic's Union of Tourism Industry, expressed confidence in the dynamic economic relations between the regions through tourism sector projects' implementation.

“Thanks to the efforts of our diplomatic corps, particularly Ambassador Dmitriy Krutoy, the government of the Republic of Bashkortostan, Belarusian entrepreneurs, and our government, we have already established and are actively developing economic relations. Tourism plays a significant role in terms of facilitating logistics,” stated Filipp Gulyi.

He also highlighted that the substantial tourist traffic between the regions creates new prospects for tourism growth.

The Republic of Bashkortostan boasts significant cultural, natural, and recreational potential. Among non-resort regions of Russia, Bashkortostan leads in the number of visitors to health resort, ranking 5th nationwide and 1st in the Volga Federal District.

“The tourism project 'Bashkir-Belarusian Longevity. Tourism', which commenced implementation last year, has gained popularity among the Republic's senior citizens. A group of elderly tourists from Bashkortostan travels to Belarus weekly via direct flights from Ufa to Minsk. The annual quota for this initiative is approximately 1,350 people,” stated Zukhra Gordienko, Minister of Entrepreneurship and Tourism of the Republic of Bashkortostan.

The republic project 'Bashkir Longevity. Tourism' continues to gather momentum. It encompasses initiatives aimed at sustaining the social engagement of senior citizens. Within the program, eligible seniors seeking to visit Belarus receive partial reimbursement of their travel expenses. Direct flights from Ufa to Minsk have been introduced to facilitate convenient logistics.

“Bashkortostan stands out as one of the most vibrant regions in the Russian Federation, offering unique opportunities for the advancement of the tourism and hospitality industry. The tourism offerings of the Republic align well with the preferences of Belarusian tourists. It is now crucial to organize systematic efforts to promote them further and enhance their accessibility,” emphasized the Chairperson of the Board of the Republic's Union of Tourism Industry.
As part of the business program of Investment Sabantuy, the parties intend to discuss future prospects for the development of the tourism sector.
